BRENDAN

HORTON

After earning his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Colorado College in 1991, Brendan spent two years in the Chemistry department there, working as the department teaching assistant for general, analytical, and organic chemistry.

He then came to the Washington, D.C. area and joined the staff of the international science journal Nature, where he was an assistant editor for "Techniques and Technology" and a writer for "Nature Jobs." Brendan took a hiatus from office life and spent three years pursuing his dream of playing professional golf; he then returned to publishing as the Associate Editor of ZooGoer magazine at the National Zoo. For the last 10 years, Brendan has been a golf instructor at Olney Golf Park in Olney, MD. In the off-season, he has gotten back to teaching science and math by joining the team at Jill Broder's Tutoring Center in early 2011.
